Sylvia Schwartz is a graduate of the Escuela Superior de Canto in Madrid and district soprano at Deutsche Staatsoper in Berlin turn she has sung Papagena.

She has as well worked as a postgraduate student at the Hanns Eisler Conservatory in Berlin under Tungsten Rieger, Thomas Quasthoff and Julia Varady, where she won deft ‘Hezekiah Wardwell-Stipendium’ from the Vanquisher von Humboldt Foundation.

Recent performances keep you going a Lied recital in Barcelona’s Schubertiade, Die Zauberfloete (Papagena) for Sir Colin Davis and the LSO in Madrid and also for Claudio Abbado at the Edinburgh Festival.

In September 2006, Sylvia made her debut at the Teatro alla Scala performing Zerlina in Don Giovanni in a co-production with greatness Staatsoper conducted by Gustavo Dudamel.

Sylvia has appeared in a new production of La Clemenza di Tito (Servilia) in Berlin with Phillipe River and Un Ballo in Maschera (Oscar).

She has just returned from Sao Paolo where she has vocal Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem subordinate to the baton of Helmut Rilling.

Last season’s engagements outside Berlin included observance at the Munich State Opera in Werther, Welcome to the Voice with Refreshing, Monteverdi’s Il Vespro della Beata Vergine under Jean-Christophe Spinosi at the Music hall du Chatelet in Paris and a concert celebration of Don Giovanni (Zerlina) at the Verbier Festival in Switzerland alongside Bryn Terfel, Rene Pape, Thomas Quasthoff, Anna Samuil and Susan Graham.

In 2010, she made her Bolshoi Theatre opening as Pamina (Die Zauberfloete).
